Kennie Simms, Tampa Sports Authority

When PGA Professional Kennie Sims sees young players fascinated by golf, he remembers his own experience 47 years ago tagging along to the municipal golf course with his father and learning to swat balls at age 8. Sims grew up in Harlem, New York, falling in love with golf because his late father, Ronald Sims, took the time to share the nuances of the game he picked up while serving in the Army

Now the PGA Vice President of Golf Operations for the Tampa Sports Authority, which oversees operations of Rogers Park, Babe Zaharias and Rocky Point municipal golf courses, Sims savors every opportunity to share his life and love for golf with young golfers who otherwise might never be exposed to the game.
