A YEAR IN REVIEW

The biggest area of concern revealed by the “Industry Report for 2002” was that the number of rounds played decreased from the previous year, especially among avid golfers. Weather, the shifting economy and the ever-increasing time crunch were revealed as factors in this downturn. However, interest in the game remained high, and the support of young golfers, latent minority market and new programs like Link Up 2 Golf were heralded as positive forces for the sport’s future.
