Several years ago, Broken Sound Club made a commitment to become more environmentally sensitive while reducing energy costs and consumption. It began with the introduction of biodegradable cups and recycling and has led to composting and several awards and certifications.
Working closely with the city of Boca Raton, Broken Sound Club obtains enough reclaimed water for its two courses to supplement regular water supply. It has made environmental enhancements and corporate responsibility central to the business model since launching these “green” initiatives. The entire facility uses energy efficient light bulbs and installed solar panels to power the water heaters, providing exceptional tax credits and long-term savings.
Broken Sound is recognized globally as being on the leading edge of sustainability in the club industry and has received numerous acknowledgments including certifications from the Audubon International, Golf Environment Organization, Green Corporate Citizen Award and Proclamation from the City of Boca Raton and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Commendation for Recycling.
