PGA Jr. League

PGA Jr. League is one of the game’s fastest growing programs. In 2017, a record number of 42,000 boys and girls participated on 3,400 PGA Jr. League teams – surpassing the 36,000 participants on 2,900 teams in 2016 – and they were led by nearly 2,300 PGA and LPGA Professionals serving as Captains.

The First Tee

The First Tee is a youth development organization helping to shape the lives of kids and teens from all walks of life by introducing them to the game of golf and its inherent values. The First Tee offers high-quality junior golf programs that build character, develop leadership skills and empower youth to discover their individual potential—both on the golf course and in life.

PLAY9™ Program

Since 2014, the USGA’s PLAY9™ program has been actively educating and rallying golfers and non-golfers alike around the concept of the nine-hole round as an important, yet simple, solution to address busy lifestyles and everyday lives. PLAY9 is critically important to the game and its health in that it promotes a time-friendly option to engage with the game. Many cite the time it takes to a complete an 18-hole round as a barrier to the game’s participation.

FootGolf is a combination of the popular sports of soccer and golf. The game is played with a regulation No. 5 soccer ball at a golf course facility on shortened holes with 21-inch diameter cups located yards away from the greens. Players adhere to the golf course dress code and do not use soccer cleats. The rules largely correspond to the rules of golf.

Kids Golf Foundation

The Kids Golf Foundation is a statewide junior golf association that offers and supports several golf programs and events designed to introduce children between the ages of 5 and 17 to the sport of golf, its fundamentals, rules, history, etiquette, life lessons, and more. The Foundation is one of the largest junior golf organizations in the state of Illinois.

National School Program

The First Tee National School Program introduces the game of golf and The First Tee Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits to elementary students during physical education classes. Currently in more than 4,800 elementary schools, this school golf program creates an environment where young people are introduced to the lifelong sport while learning the basic golf motor skills and the inherent values of the game.

Sticks For Kids

The Sticks for Kids program from the Golf Course Builders Association of America (GCBAA) Foundation is dedicated to introducing and teaching youth the fundamentals of golf through chipping, putting, club stance, grip, etiquette, and basic rules of the game. The program is centered on the philosophy that every child, regardless of socioeconomic status, should have the opportunity to play golf.
