The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), headquartered in Daytona Beach, FL, is currently seeking a full-time Staff Accountant. This position is responsible for preparation, review, reconciliation, recording, processing, balancing and distribution of financial and related data, for the LPGA (and subsidiaries) and the LPGA Foundation (and subsidiary). This position will report to the Assistant Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Process various billing and payments relevant to accounts payable and or receivable functions
  • Perform posting, data entry and maintenance tasks relevant to assigned functional areas
  • Prepare bank reconciliations; create and record journal entries; generate, reconcile and ensure the accuracy of various system reports, schedules and calculations
  • Monitor and review account records and transactions for accuracy, proper reporting and classification, and adherence to established budget
  • Responsible for monthly closing of financial records and preparation of month end schedules; understand impact and ensures accuracy of financial statements
  • Prepare and distribute reports; provide accounting assistance to staff members; respond to financial questions/concerns from internal and external stakeholders, to meet business needs
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, for proper audit trails and verification and reconciliation for all processed work
  • Provide historical research on transactions as needed; Assist with external audit process
  • General administrative duties including filing, scanning, providing telephone support, transcription and the production of forms
  • Develop, implement and maintains systems, procedures and policies, that foster efficiency, adhere to organizational guidelines, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Perform special projects and other various duties as requested by supervisor

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance required
  • Master’s Degree or 1 to 3 years general accounting experience, which could include internship
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Ability to access, operate and maintain various software applications; Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint experience required; Experience working with MAS 90, Sage, or similar Accounting Systems a plus
  • Must be extremely well organized and detail oriented with a professional attitude, strong work ethic and interpersonal/customer service skills; ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions, and clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing to customers, support personnel and management
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, documentation, research and resolution skills; ability to recognize and report deviations
