Atlanta, Ga. – The Women in Golf Foundation announced the election of seven new members to its Board of Directors. New board members include: Linnet Carty, Sharon Stackhouse, Sydnee Mack, Brittny Bryant Lott, Daphne Grissom, Hank Stewart and Jeremie Peterkin. The new board members will join existing board members: Founder/President LaJean Gould, Secretary Marvy Walker, Angela Moody and Charlene Fitzpatrick. Together, the new and existing board members will put the organization in a strong position for 2018.
The Women in Golf Foundation, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, is a 501©3 nonprofit corporation that promotes women in both the game and business of golf. The mission of the foundation is to create more opportunities for women and girls in golf on and off the course by implementing programs that help women and girls develop leadership and life skills as they learn to play golf for business, recreational and competitive purposes. The Foundation also hosts the Women’s Collegiate Golf Championship in Atlanta, Georgia which is in its 24th year of competition.
LINNET E. CARTY, MBA.
Linnet is currently a diversity and inclusion specialist for the PGA of America where she specializes in Education and Training, Supplier Development, Workforce Diversification and Community Engagement. Prior to joining the PGA of America Linnet was an Equity and Inclusion educator, an arts and entertainment newspaper columnist and a television talk show host and producer for NBC.
SYDNEE MACK, ESQ.
Sydnee is the owner and operator of Atlanta-based law firm Sydnee Mack attorney at Law LLC. She focuses her law practice on sports & entertainment (with a specialty in golf) and small business and also serves as an adjunct law professor in Sports law. Sydnee played four years of college golf at Hampton University where she was a part of the Championship team that won back to back to back WIGF Women’s Collegiate Championships from 2009-2011.
Daphne is owner and managing partner of a wellness company and part owner of a real estate company. She is a ten-year board member of the Legacy Hills R.A association where she has served as President and Secretary. She has also served on several committees with the purpose of raising funds for non-profit organizations. Daphne is the proud mother of two children and graduate of Spelman college.
Jeremie, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), currently serves as managing partner of the Guardian, an accounting firm specializing in protecting athletes and entertainer’s wealth. He is a leader in developing startup businesses by providing business plan assistance, negotiating funding requirements, process implementation and personnel selection. Jeremie is a graduate of Bentley University, an avid golfer and lives with his wife and son in Stockbridge Georgia.
BRITTNY BRYANT LOTT, LPGA.
Brittny is a Recognized Coach with the First Tee at East Lake. She has enjoyed the game of golf since the age of 12, and delights in teaching the youth- especially girls! Brittny is an L.P.G.A Girls Golf site director and member of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professionals organization. Brittny is also a former collegiate golfer at Southern University and product of the Women in Golf Foundation.
Sharon currently serves as hospital administrator for Peachford Hospital and is a registered health information administrator (RHIA). She is also the mother of Mariah Stackhouse, former Stanford University All-American and the 7th African American woman to earn status on the LPGA Tour.
A 1977 graduate of Texas Southern University (TSU), Hank Stewart is the third golf coach in Tiger history. Stewart has had a very successful coaching career, coaching both the Men’s and Women’s teams to Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships and NCAA Regional Tournament appearances in 2007 and 2017 respectively. Stewart is currently the only TSU head golf coach to win championships as a student-athlete, assistant and head coach.
